Pleasant Poppies Birthday Card

Today is a fun day.  I entered my very first challenge.  It required the use of three different designer series papers.  Paul and I had seen wild poppies on our recent road trip that were just beautiful and this seemed to be the perfect day to try this stamp set out!!!

The Designer Series Paper is named Floral District.  This is one of the new paper series from Stampin' Up.  Very bright and summer colors. Each piece of paper is two-sided which gives you tons of choices.  I used the Tangerine Tango and Lucky Limeade Classic Stampin' pads with a blender pen on the poppies and the stems and then stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment with Lucky Limeade.

I like the look of white on white so out came the dimensionals which were placed on the poppies and the birthday sentiment to attach them to a mat of Whisper White card stock.  The card still seemed to need a little something more so I added a strip of the Certainly Celery Taffeta Ribbon.

Paper Airplanes

What a busy week. Our daughter who works for the FAA is marrying a great guy who is a pilot. Needless to say, the Save the Date cards are paper airplanes. We used Marina Mist card stock and a beautiful flouish from the Established Elegance stamp set. Two hundred planes later- I think I have earned my pilot's license.

Make a Cake Birthday Card and Baby Boutique Card

Had the best time making a birthday card for my sweet niece Britta.  I got to use all my new goodies from Stampin' Up! plus some old favorites.  Wish I had come up with this idea on my own but I cased it from a similar one that I saw on Mary Fish's blog.  I just loved the Tangerine Tango and the Lucky Limeade together.  It just seemed to say "Sunshine & Fun".  Perfect for a summer birthday.

The Make a Cake stamp set is great.  It has flags, a pinwheel, and another cake layer to add..  Lots of fun ideas floating in my mind.

My wonderful neighbor had her baby boy yesterday so I decided to do the same card using the new Baby Boutique stamp set.  Isn't the turtle priceless?  And the booties are so sweet...

It was nice to use the Bitty Banner Framelits.  It was so much easier than cutting my own banners.  I have never been able to get the edges quite right.

The rich textures of vintage style are all the rage in fashion and crafting. My customers tell me they love adding vintage details like ribbon rosettes, frayed and ruched (gathered) ribbon to their cards, scrapbook pages and decor items. If you are into vintage style you'll want to get your hands on the 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon. It comes in a variety of colors and has a super light and flexible texture. Since it is so light you can do a lot without adding too much bulk. One of the things that makes the Seam Binding so much fun to craft with is that it has a loose weave that frays well. You can easily create frayed ribbon ends or pull the threads to quickly create rich looking ruched ribbon. Order your Seam Binding ribbon in the hottest colors like Cherry Cobbler, Baja Breeze, and Crumb Cake and start creating some vintage style today!
